Broaden your outlook and create impact this year with the Network of Possibility
With the start of the new decade bringing so much uncertainty to so many, Dr Kim Vella is encouraging Canberrans to join together to recognise and create ‘social change’, by joining the Network of Possibility.
Launched to connect like-minded people, share stories and build capacity to drive change, Kim has grown the philanthropic network of Canberra professionals to raise funds for charities that work to eliminate violence against women, children and families. After starting in 2016, nearly $10k has been raised to support these organisations including Karinya House, Toora Women Inc., and YWCA Canberra.
Recognising the recent tragic bushfires and how this has affected so many people, the Network of Possibility creates an opportunity for individuals to respond collectively, creating greater impact and change with the first event of 2020 taking place on 18 March 2020.
The event, to be held at Servcorp at The Realm, will be MC’d by Cy Fahey, a renowned entertainer and actor, and guests will also hear from keynote speaker, Melanie Greenhalgh, an inspiring and highly skilled facilitator, writer, trainer, social connector and public speaker who has experienced grief, loss and adversity. Melanie will share her story on how she overcame her own life challenges through connection, community and people.
Kim commented: “The Network is a neutral, supportive and inclusive space for members and guests to share defeats and triumphs’. It’s about understanding what your purpose is and not your level, status or rank. It’s a relationship-driven network where we make it a priority to get to know each other on a deeper level.
“We’re delighted to welcome Melanie to our first event of the new year; she communicates with confidence, passion and clarity and has a wealth of knowledge, drawing from her personal and workplace experience to deliver locally relevant and inspiring content.”
Dr Kim Vella, who has experienced her own degree of grief and life challenges, transitioned to executive coaching following two decades in roles leading people in the Australian Public Service, and at the Australian National University. Focused on developing and providing evidence-based leadership training and coaching, Kim connects, supports and refines senior professionals in private and public sectors.
Throughout the year, Network of Possibility events are held to gather, meet inspiring individuals and discuss the possibilities to create change within Canberra’s community. Click here for more information.
